    How it is used effectively: It transfer motion from the pedal to the back wheel.

    How it is used effectively: Holds the staple in its current position and pulls it back to this position whenever not.

  2. d=the definition does show how it is effective and why other levers/linkages would not be better.

    this definition only tells us what it does, but it should tell us why it reduces effort.
