Reflection - 30th Mar 2010

    • What do we need to take note of when answering mechanisms questions? What are the criteria?

17 comments:

  1. - Parts are labelled properly (neat and clear)
    - Various sketches in different views
    - Arrows to show direction of any movements if necessary
    - Big and neat drawing (without sketchy lines)
    - Parts are joint properly and clearly

  2. when answering the question,we must remember to have a clear labelling and a big drawing, not cramping everything

  3. We need to anaylse the question, and understand where the input and the outputs are in the the drawings given. We also need to explain in details and draw them in different views. The parts of the sketches are labelled properly and arrows to show the direction

  4. We need to take note of the input and output motion of the mechanism in the question. We also need to check whether that mechanism is suitable to be used or not and if the output motion is the correct.

The criteria are labeling the sketches and parts correctly, and draw multiple sketches if needed (If a mechanism looks different from another point of view).

  5. We need to take note of the question, input and the output so as not to misinterpret the output and input movement, or change it.

  6. We would need to take note of our labels. The labels should be clear and relevant to the drawing. We should also draw arrows to show the movement of the mechanism. Other than that, we should have different views of the drawing and make sure it is in proportion.

  7. We need to make sure that the idea is conveyed clearly. In orders to convey the idea clearly, we should explain the mechanisms in details, especially how it works and how it answers the question. Secondly, there should be multiply sketches to zoom in into the complex parts of the structure. There should also be clear labels and arrows to show how the design moves.

  8. We need to take note of the type of mechanism we can use to solve the problem. We must also be able to see how the solution can work when put into real context.

The criteria are to draw neatly and clear. The mechanism need to be clear and we must not change the question.

  9. also, for better clarification it must have more than one sketch

  10. We need to take note that the person viewing must be able to picture the drawing and understand how it works.
To do this, we need to :
    Explain each part in details
    Sketch in different views

  11. We need to take notes of the parts of the question, like the mode of effort. If the question says the effort is made by pushing a button, we have to make use of that and not change the question by putting a turning mechanisms to operate it. We should also take note of the certain parts that are in the question so do not draw wrongly. We should also make our drawings clear by putting arrows to show movement and label diagrams clearly.

  12. We need to take not of how the mechanism works and what kind of mechanism it is. The criteria are mainly that the parts are clear, they are big and they are labeled clearly and neatly.

  13. We need to take note of:
-Labels and the arrows pointing to labeled parts
-Different sketches to show different views

  14. We need to make sure that each part is explained in detail, show multiple views, make it properly labelled, proper input and output, and proper proportion

  15. We need to take note of labeling the mechanisms we draw so as not to cause confusion as to what we are drawing. We also have to make sure that the arrows we draw are pointing directly at the thing that we are describing. Lastly, we have to make sure that our drawings are big so that the reader can see what we are drawing.

  16. Parts must be labeled clearly, with different views (if necessary), with arrows to show direction

  17. We need to take note of our drawings and make sure that they are labelled well enough for us to understand. The drawing should also not be blur and small sized so people can know what was drawn in the picture.
